思うに；子供は変なことが大好きで、僕は幼児から成長がないのではないか？と思えるほど変なことが好きだ。それを”歳たけた”いい歳をした中高年の男がひた隠しにするのは、本当は耐え難い。そんな訳で、幼児から僕は大変好かれるし、心から一緒に遊ぶのだ。子供ほどこの世で愛おしいものはない。

アコウスティック・ギターから静かに立ち上がり半音転調でエスカレーションするこの曲は、たった8小節のメロディーだけで作った楽曲である。
口先だけのおとこは、マザーグースの歌詞である。
歌詞は韻を踏みつつ駆けあがってゆき、やがて口先だけのおとこは死を迎えることになる。
こうした素材は編曲の勉強にはもってこいといえるだろう。
冒頭の憂鬱感は劇的に変化する。エスカレーション！
